Shiva and Santhanam start working on 'Ya Ya'


After making the audience laugh out loud with Kalakalapu, Shiva and Santhanam will be coming together again for their next project 'Ya Ya', for which the shooting has commenced today. The film will be directed by Rajasekar, who was an assistant to Director Rajesh.

Ya Ya will be a romantic comedy and coming from the man who co-worked in films like SMS, Boss Engira Baskaran and OKOK, it is likely to be a very good entertainer. Shiva, who is wrapping up his work with 'Thillu Mullu' and 'Sonna Puriyadhu', will be working closely with the crew. The producers have roped in Vijay Ebenezer of 'Kanden' fame for music.

Gautham Menon to team up with Simbu again


Gautham Menon's current film 'Neethaane En Ponvasantham' is nearing completion and the songs have become quite the rage among fans. Even as it is currently being discussed, rumours about his next have surfaced and they suggest that the director will be teaming up Simbu again in his next venture.

Initially, it was reported that Gautham Menon would be working with Suriya in his next, but since the project got scrapped, it is likely that he will turn to Simbu again. After the success of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya, it has long been debated that we might see a sequel to it soon. Now that the Gautham-Simbu pair is together again, we can expect it from the duo.

It is yet to be seen whether A.R.Rahman will be composing the music for the film, or if Gautham Menon will prefer Illayaraja again. No matter the choice, we are sure to have a great show on our hands when the team comes together.

Bala wants two new faces for his next


Director Bala has dropped tips on what his next project might be and reports suggest that he is looking for a couple of new faces to work in his next film. The director apparently wants have a double role in his film.

As his current film Paradesi is shaping up quickly and nearing completion, Bala stated his interest in working with young actors in his next. After initially suggesting that he might opt for Vikram or Suriya, it looks like he might more be interested in the likes of Vikram Prabhu and Gautham Karthik.

Meanwhile, Paradesi's teaser was released to the internet two days ago and is getting good responses from viewers and critics alike. Considering his track record, we can only expect the best from Bala, even in his next project, after Paradesi.

Rajamouli wants Hrithik for Maghadheera


Director S.S.Rajamouli, who is on a roll with his latest hit Eega has been busy with dubbing the film as 'Makkhi' in Hindi. However, his previous film Maghadheera which became a huge hit in the south is being remade in Hindi by Anurag Kashyap and the man who originally penned the script wants Hrithik Roshan to play the lead.

Although Hrithik Roshan has not shown interest in the project, and has also previously stated that he wouldn't prefer period films, Rajamouli believes he will be a perfect fit to play the role. The director also wants to make a Bollywood film of his own, but did not comment on the project.

'Kochadaiyaan' for Rajini b'day?


Soundarya R Ashwin, who is making her directorial debut with 'Kochadaiyaan', which has her father Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead, is said to be working tirelessly towards one single agenda.



That is to release the movie on the Superstar's birthday on December 12, to make it as a perfect treat to millions of Rajini fans.

"The post production works are on in a hectic pace. Since the movie is being made using performance capturing technology, undivided attention is needed for event minute things," sources say.

It is expected that the audio launch function would take place soon. With A R Rahman scoring the music, the film has Deepika Padukone, Sarath Kumar, Jackie Shroff, Shobana, Nasser and Aadhi in crucial roles.

'Aadhi Bhagavan' trailer launch soon


The audio of Ameer's 'Aadhi Bhagavan', which has 'Jayam' Ravi as the protagonist, was launched at a grand function in Toronto.



Now the cast and crew of the movie are heading towards India, as they are planning to hold a trailer launch function in Chennai later this week.

"The audio launch event was marked by cultural programmers, including dance performances and live rendering of songs. And the trailer release function in Chennai too will be a grand event," sources say.

Neetu chandra is the heroine of this 'Mafioso Action Love Story', which has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. It is expected that the movie would hit the screens before the end of this month.

Sillunu Oru Sandhippu audio launch set for October 14th


Kollywood is the most happening place to be in right now, as a wide range of films get ready for release. Joining the list will be Sillunu Oru Sandhippu, whose audio launch has been scheduled for the 14th of October. The movie features Vimal, Oviya and Deepa Sha in the lead and is being directed by Ravi Lallin.



The film has been shot in Chennai, Malaysia and Ooty and one of the tracks titled 'Buse Buse' features the voice of Vijay Prakash. The song underlines the celebration of 'Bus day' that is held in college every year. The music by FS Faizal will be launched in Sun TV on the 14th and the trailer launch of the film will happen on the same day between 9:30 and 10:30 A.M. Sillunu Oru Sandhippu is being produced by S Nandhagpoal and is under the banner of Madras Enterprises.

Sridevi all smiles


The pan-Indian response to her comeback venture 'English Vinglish' has made Sridevi happy. "It is a nice feeling. My thanks to everyone who has supported and encouraged the film," says the actress.

Meanwhile, there is a buzz that the name of Sridevi is on the recommendation list for this year Padma awardees. The Mahrashtra government is expected to finalise the list soon and will forward it to the Union government.

Ever since the film hit the screens Friday last, many have been heaping laurels on Sridevi, appreciating her performance in the movie directed by Gauri Shinde.

"Just saw and realized she's not Sridevi, she's a SSSSHH RRIIIDEVI. I just watched EV," wrote Ram Gopal varma on his microblogging page.

He added: "Acting can't be more wonderful than what she did and wonder can't be more wonderful than Sridevi. Hey Gauri, can you please tweet your feet so that I can touch them."

'NEP' shooting not yet over


The music launch function is over, the songs have become chartbusters and everyone is now expecting Gautham Vasudev Menon's 'Neethane En Ponvasantham' to hit the screens.



But the latest update about the movie is that some scenes are yet to be shot and the last schedule shooting of this Jiiva-Samantha starrer will be held soon.

"Come mid October amidst the final schedule of the shoot will be a barrage of events, strategies, tactics all novel and unheard of that will set the trend for movie promotions for years ahead," a media statement from R S Infotainment, the producers of 'NEP' said.

It added: "Sony and the production team of R S Infotainment have chalked out some of the most innovative strategies in taking this huge project to higher levels." Ilayaraja has composed music for this 'romantic entertainer'.

Suriya portrayed as ThalaThalapathy fan in Maatraan


Something interesting has turned up out of the Maatraan trailers that are being screened across channels. In one of the shots, Suriya, who is playing both roles of conjoined twins is shown as a ThalaThalapathy fan.



That's right. One of the characters is shown as wanting to go see Mankatha while the other is eager to watch Nanban. It has been common for film directors to use Vijay and Ajith's names to attract fan bases, but this idea takes everything to a whole new level. Imagine a Vijay fan and an Ajith fan being conjoined together and fighting it out to decide which movie they should see.

Sivakarthikeyan and Nandita come together for Ethirneechal


Actress Nandita, who got introduced to the tamil cinema through 'Attakathi' is on a high after she just signed her next film, Ethirneechal with Sivakarthikeyan. The project is being produced by Dhanush and will have music by Kolaveri fame Anirudh. It is being directed by a former assistant to Vetrimaaran, Senthil.



Nandita made an impression with Attakathi, which just hit 50 successful days at cinemas. Hailing from Bangaglore, the actress has one more project under her name. Directed by one of Venkat Prabhu's assistants, it will be called 'Nalanum Nandhiniyum'

Hansika to play a school girl in Singham 2


It's been reported that Hansika will be playing a school girl in Singham 2 and will appear in the character for around 15 minutes. The actress is currently shooting with Director Hari in Thoothukudi as the Singhm team is moving ahead in full swing.



Hansika said that she enjoyed working with real school girls and that the experience made her want to go back to school once again. Before Hansika, Nayanthara had earlier played a school girl in Ayya, her debut film. Singham 2 features Suriya, Anushka, Santhanam and Vivek in the lead.

Rajni to attend Amitabh Bachchan's birthday


Amitabh Bachchan, one of India's biggest icons will be celebrating his birthday on the 11th of October. It is being reported that the event will be very grand, and will have a lot of big name personalities attending it. And one key person in that list might be our very own Superstar Rajnikanth.

Rajni, who is very close to the Bachchans is one of the special invitees of the party and has confirmed his arrival with the family. Along with him, some of the biggest names in the film industry have been invited for the event in Film City.

Speaking of his birthday, Amitabh Bachchan had recently tweeted: "A million interviews, a million good wishes and a million desires of continuance... birthdays at 70 seem special to some. Just another day for me."

Kumki confirmed for Diwali



Prabhu Solomon's Kumki, which explains the story about elephant riders or mahouts will be releasing this Diwali. The film features newcomers Vikram Prabhu, actor Prabhu's son and Laxmi Menon in the lead. It is expected to be a thriller shot in forests throughout.



The news got confirmed by the music director of the film, D.Imman when he tweeted "Kumki all set for Diwali! I'm sure the orchestral BG score will excite you". Produced by Lingusamy's Thiruppathi Brothers and distributed by Studio Green, Kumki will join the likes of 'Thuppaki' and 'Poda Podi' this Diwali.

Meanwhile, Karthi and Anushka starrer Alex Pandian, also produced and distributed by Studio Green will come out a month after Diwali on the 14th December. The film also has Santhanam playing a major role and is expected to be a full fledged masala flick.

Sridevi's countdown starts


She started it off in the south and made it big in the north. And now, with her comeback venture 'English Vinglish', Sridevi is set to storm the entire country.



For, the film will hit the screens on Friday (October 5) in three languages- Tamil, Telugu and Hindi- and it has been ensured that the movie releases in as many screens as possible.

The highlight of the Tamil version will be a cameo by Ajith and his fans are eagerly expecting the movie's release. The role was done by Amitabh Bachchan in the Hindi version.

Directed by debutant Gauri Shinde and produced by her husband and acclaimed filmmaker Balki, 'English Vinglish' speaks about an innocent homemaker played by Sridevi, who vows to learn English.
